TMAC MEPNN: Smart Manufacturing
Cloud
The cloud directly addresses the problems posed by physical hardware. It not only frees an organization from installing, designing, supporting, and maintaining its own computer infrastructure, it provides data security and infinitely scalable computing resources (“infinitely scalable” meaning “as much as you need.”)
Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality has far‐reaching benefits, which include cost reduction, risk reduction, time reduction, and improved knowledge transfer. It is extremely useful for complex assembly, maintenance, remote expert support, QA, and automation by vastly improving the efficiency of worker‐job interaction.
Big Data
The use of Analytics to mine Big Data for information is a classic example of the principle “work smarter, not harder.” Big Data Analytics leads to more intelligent business moves, more effective operations, higher profits, and increased customer satisfaction.
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity provides a direct answer to the threats posed by hackers, data thieves, and careless employees. It helps ensure the confidentiality of data, reduces or eliminates the downtime that can occur after a cyber attack, safeguards device configuration and data accuracy, and protects the reputation of a company.
Industrial Internet of Things
The IIoT represents a massive paradigm change in the way industry functions. Instead of forcing industry leaders to observe a finished process or product and then walk backwards in hopes of finding where problems first began, the IIoT uses embedded sensors that monitor every phase of business activity as it occurs.
Robotics
Robots have a wide range of benefits that include increased productivity and throughput, increased efficiency, increased speed, improved safety, and multi‐level cost effectiveness. Robots do not take sick days, and programmable automation means that the operation of a robot can be changed without time and money spent on training the operator in a new set of tasks.
Simulation / 3D Modeling
The foremost advantage of Simulation 3D modeling is its ability to use computers to take over the function of prototypes in some aspects of the testing process. Unlike physical prototypes, computer models can be rapidly designed. This improves speed to market, product performance, and customer satisfaction.
Software Integration
Software integration provides comprehensive support from the earliest stages of Customer Relationship Management to final payment, while simultaneously producing data which allows management to grow overall business value. The various software applications, operating through the Cloud, allow access from anywhere at any time, allowing solutions to come from outside as well as within the workplace.
