Purchasing and Supply Management (Virtual)

Traditional purchasing function has evolved from a narrowly defined activity into a professional supply management function, driven by people and technology. Supply management is concerned with cost containment, profitability, and relationship building. The discipline of supply management is the core component of an effective supply chain. Supply professionals must possess a comprehensive skill set, have excellent technology and negotiations skills, be analytical problem solvers, and must be able to interact with potential sources of supply from around the world. Topics covered include:

This course is offered by the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), a program of Southwest Research Institute.
